Jashore Medical College (JMC) is a government medical college in Bangladesh, established in 2010. It is located in the Jashore district of the Khulna division and associated with Seikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna.
It offers a five-year medical education course leading to MBBS. One-year internship after graduation is compulsory for all graduates. The degree is recognised by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). Graduates of this medical college are eligible for USMLE, PLAB examination and the degree is recognized by WHO. Jashore Medical College is listed in IMED.
Jashore medical college Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in the Southern part of Bangladesh. It is a 500-bed teaching hospital. There are 17 operation theatres in the hospital, of which, 12 are general, two emergency, one labour and two daily. The hospital has introduced some new departments, including cancer, urology and radiotherapy. It has the ability to accommodate above 1000 patients. PGT trainings are also given in the hospital. This Medical college is affiliated by Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeon for undertaking any post graduate training and Postgraduate courses. Many facilities like academics, research and residency are available here.
Jashore Medical College admits 100 students (except foreign students) into the MBBS degree programme yearly under the government medical admission test. Jashore Medical College is under DGHS and curriculum by BMDC (Bangladesh medical and dental council).
